• Our mission is to improve literacy in Memphis amongst 3rd-6th grade students with rigor, discipline, and joy.

  • Create a generation of lifelong learners and leaders in Memphis by bolstering the power of literacy.

  • We utilize research based reading techniques and quality, industry-standard assessments to personalize our instruction and ensure students advance in their literacy skills. Specifically, we:

    • Provide direct instruction, teaching integral grade-specific concepts in reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary

    • Engage in Socratic book conversations to enhance students’ critical thinking skills

    • Use programs such as iXL to provide skills practice and  to track student progress

    • Encourage independent reading by introducing book recommendations and assisting our students in securing library cards

    • Foster a productive and cooperative parent-instructor relationship by initiating communication, informing parents’ of their child’s progress and growth, providing feedback, and being accessible
