We utilize research based reading techniques and quality, industry-standard assessments to personalize our instruction and ensure students advance in their literacy skills. Specifically, we:
Provide direct instruction, teaching integral grade-specific concepts in reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary
Engage in Socratic book conversations to enhance students’ critical thinking skills
Use programs such as iXL to provide skills practice and to track student progress
Encourage independent reading by introducing book recommendations and assisting our students in securing library cards
Foster a productive and cooperative parent-instructor relationship by initiating communication, informing parents’ of their child’s progress and growth, providing feedback, and being accessible
